Energy research company Rystad Energy's August report rated the Granville Harbour Wind Farm as Australia's best performing wind asset.
It found the wind farm achieved a record 57.3 per cent capacity factor, taking advantage of the West Coast's strong and consistent winds.
"With 99.26 per cent turbine availability, these results show that Granville Harbour Wind Farm is making excellent use of the available wind resource," operations manager Antony Beard said.
"In August, the wind farm provided 47 gigawatt hours of energy.
"In practical terms, this is equivalent to 5 per cent of Tasmania's total electricity demand or powering 64,000 homes or businesses."
Mr Beard said the results were a sensational outcome for the Granville team.
The 31-turbine wind farm near Zeehan, owned by Palisade Investment Partners and First Sentier Investors,.started operating in December 2020.
Two other Tasmanian wind farms finished in the top 10 for August.
They were the Musselroe Wind Farm in the North-East, which came third, and the Cattle Hill Wind Farm in the Central Highlands (eighth).
Rystad Energy senior analyst David Dixon said August was Australia's second highest wind generation month on record, behind only the previous month.
Mr Beard said the Granville Harbour Wind Farm had been operating reliably and meeting all production, safety and environmental expectations.
"Since we started operating the Granville Harbour Wind Farm, output has been excellent, providing over 320 gigawatt hours of clean energy to Tasmanian electricity customers," he said.
The wind farm's capacity is enough to power nearly every household in the North-West.
State Energy and Emissions Reduction Minister Guy Barnett said: ``Of course, Granville Harbour holds a special place in our power generating history because when it came online last year Tasmania became one of only a handful of jurisdictions in the world to be 100 per cent self-sufficient in renewable energy."
``The government has legislated a target to double our renewable generation to 200 per cent of our current needs by 2040 and our ability to produce clean, green energy sets us apart from the rest of the world and is giving businesses the confidence they need to invest in our state.''
