The league's newest side will face the Adelaide 36ers in the season-opener, before playing 13 more home matches in Tasmania for the season.

The Apple Isle has been trusted with plenty of marquee contests in its return to the national competition, hosting the New Zealand Breakers on Boxing Day and the reigning NBL champions Melbourne United on New Year's Day.

In the only clash between schedules, the latter match-up, booked in for 5.30pm, will be held alongside a Hobart Hurricanes contest on the same day and will be the first test of Tasmanian sporting fans' allegiances.

In addition to the marquee holiday games, the JackJumpers have five Friday night games and three Sunday afternoon contests in sought-after timeslots.

The Silverdome contests are yet to be fixtured as the JackJumpers work with the Launceston complex's management.

"There is still a little bit of work to be done at the Silverdome to upgrade lighting for broadcast and get the venue up to NBL standard," JackJumpers chief executive Simon Brookhouse said.

"We're looking forward to locking in some dates in February or March, and sharing them with our members and bringing elite basketball back to Tasmania's north.

"We're also working with our partners to provide transport options for northern fans to access our games at MyState Bank Arena (DEC)."

Two home matches - March 5 v Perth Wildcats and March 19 v Adelaide 36ers - are listed on the NBL website as venue to be confirmed, meaning the Silverdome could be an option.
