Friday will mark 50 years since Graeme Le Fevre first gained ownership of the Invermay Newsagency.

Mr Le Fevre was still in primary school when his father Mac, a former politician, started the business after relocating his family from Pyengana.
He and his brother Geoff worked on and off at the store throughout their childhood and by 1971, when the duo were still only in their late teens, they had inherited it.
After the latter purchased the Prospect Marketplace Newsagency, Graeme Le Fevre was left as the sole proprietor of the establishment.
Throughout the following five decades, he grew the business to encompass the Launceston distribution centre and the Invermay post office.
Former manager of the newsagency, Merle Kingsley, said she worked alongside the owner for about a decade and that he was more like a son to her rather than a colleague.
"The shop was the hub of Ivernmay and Graeme was a real figure of the community," she said.
"If anyone ever came along and wanted help, he always assisted and a lot of the time no one really knew about it."
One relationship that Mr Le Fevre formed was with the former Northern Tasmanian account manager for Hallmark Cards, Brian Roach
He said that over his 30-year tenure, the newsagency owner was one of his favourite customers.
"I don't think I ever knew anyone more passionate about the newsagency industry in general, his heart was really in it and he had the drive and desire to keep it going," he said.
"From what I gathered he opened the store at around three or four in the morning and worked through to a certain hour before returning to shut up the shop at night."
The Invermay Newsagency's current retail manager, Alice Semmens, believed Mr Le Fevre's selfless, kind-hearted nature meant she could approach him with any kind of problem.
"He'll do anything for anyone," she said. "He'd hate it knowing I'm talking about him because he really doesn't do it for the praise, he does it for the community."
