A Mayfield man did not enter a plea when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on a count of unlawful possession of property.

James Peter Sampson, 32, is alleged to have had possession of three vehicle registration plates, a wooden memorial box containing an amount of jewellery, a Fuji camera and case, seven laptop computers, a quantity of power tools and tool boxes and a pair prescription glasses on August 24, 2021.
Police believe the property was stolen or unlawfully obtained.

Mr Sampson had his matter adjourned until December 9 at 9.45 am.
Last week Mr Sampson received a drug treatment order rather than spend 16 months in jail for crimes he committed last year, including seven counts of receiving stolen property worth a total of $28,825.
