A trio of Northern Tasmanian Tokyo stars have received some home-state acknowledgement.
Fresh off capping a magnificent international campaign with a seventh place in the Olympic 1500-metre final, King Islander Stewart McSweyn was named the male athlete of the year at the 2020-21 Athletics Tasmania awards.
Landing a silver medal over the same distance at the Paralympics saw Forth's Deon Kenzie named open para athlete of the year while his Launceston-born Tokyo teammate Todd Hodgetts won the male throws athlete of the year.
Hobart's Ruby Smee won the open female award and, like McSweyn, doubled up with the distance athlete of the year.
Launceston's Rio Olympic marathon runner Milly Clark won the female "out of stadium" distance award.
