Regular training partners in their home state, the two veterans have both been named in the INEOS Grenadiers team for the 104th edition of the Giro dell'Emilia, a 195.3-kilometre one-day race from Casalecchio di Reno to San Luca in Italy.
It is 36-year-old Porte's first race since the week-long Tour of Britain last month which followed the Launceston rider's 11th Tour de France and second Olympic Games as he winds up his penultimate pro season.
Wurf, of Hobart, who turned 38 last month, is fresh off one-day races in France and Belgium having also won the Copenhagen Ironman triathlon.
Launceston's Nicole Frain said she could not have scripted her European debut in one of the continent's biggest races.
The 29-year-old has been named in TIBCO-SVB's team for Sunday's 116.4km Paris-Roubaix Femmes one-day classic.
"Words can't really describe how excited I am to be lining up for such a historic event for women's cycling, an event that has significant history before we have even had a part in it," Frain said on Instagram.
"Being on the first ever start line is something that will exist forever.
"I wasn't meant to be coming to Europe during this trip, so my first EU race with @teamtibco_siliconvalleybank will be none other than this one, a spring classic in the autumn. I'm excited to line up with the girls and ready to send it."
Meanwhile on the track, Perth's dual Olympian Georgia Baker has been named in the Australian team for the UCI World Championships to be held in Roubaix, France, on October 20-24.
AusCycling had announced that due to COVID it will not be sending riders from Australia to take part in overseas events before February 2022.
However, five were selected who are currently based in Europe including Baker, 27, Burnie-born Lucas Plapp, fellow Victorian Kelland O'Brien and South Australians Annette Edmondson and Alexandra Manly.
