The walk was slated for World Mental Health Day on October 10, and would see men invited to trek five kilometres from Hoo Hoo Haven at Heritage Forest at Mowbray before returning for a feed.
Mr Hughes said the walk was about getting men "walking, talking and listening to each other".
"This is really about men supporting men, and those men then supporting other men," he said.
Mr Hughes said he hoped attendees could not only attend for themselves, but to support their friends and family and gives life to a larger conversation.
The Men's Table joined forces with Men's Resources Tasmania, The Man Walk, TasDads, ManUp Tasmania, MenCareToo and Mr. Perfect to put together the free event.
The walk was due to kick off from 2pm and run until 5pm, and registrations can be made at events.humantix.com/launniemens5kmwalk.
