The crash occurred about 1pm on Tuesday after the girl ran onto the road and into oncoming traffic.
An off-duty doctor was passing by and provided immediate assistance before paramedics arrived.
Senior Sergeant Carl Pirelli said the injured girl was a passenger in a red Holden Commodore along with her father and another youth that had broken down on the side of the road.
He said the father was focused on repairing the car when she ran onto Cadbury Road and was hit by a white vehicle being driven by a woman in her 40s.
Senior Sergeant Pirelli said the girl was transported by ambulance to RHH accompanied by her father and the family was notified.
He said the driver of the white vehicle was extremely shaken and had been offered support.
Early investigations have advised there is nothing to suggest that alcohol or drugs were involved and speed was not a factor in the crash.
