Two years after a haul of 32 goals saw her tie for the Women's Northern Championship golden boot award with Northern Rangers' Moana Chamberlin, the 18-year-old claimed it outright, accumulating 41 goals in 19 games, which included one playing at centre-back.
"I am both proud and grateful to have been able to receive this award, however, I wouldn't be the golden boot winner for 2021 without the support, encouragement and guidance from my teammates," Connolly said.
"Their ability to push and drive me at training to give 100 per cent is reflected on game day and without the assistance of vital players such as Chelsea and Amelia Wing, Mia Findlay and Millie Hanson feeding crosses or setting up plays, my role as a striker would be 10 times harder, so this award is for my team too."
Connolly hit the ground running in a prolific season as Jo Haezebrouck's team finished third behind Northern Rangers and runaway league champions Ulverstone.
She scored 13 goals in her first four matches, bagged four in Ulverstone's only loss of the season - 6-3 at Windsor Park in June - hit all her team's goals in a 5-1 round-nine win at Devonport and topped that with six against Somerset in a 9-0 round-18 win.
"I would also like to thank Jo and Marg (White) for giving up their time this year, and to (club head coach) Alex (Gaetani) and club people behind the scenes who have supported me and the team throughout the season," she added.
"This is a shared award for my team, family and the club because without any of them, this award wouldn't be possible for me."
Lucy Reimer's 29 goals helped Ulverstone to the title while Rangers scored 16 more goals than Olympic, sharing them around with Febey Chugg (27), Chamberlin (26) and Abi Chugg (18) leading the way.
Devonport's Henry Andrews (23) pipped Ulverstone's Toby Anderson by one goal to claim the men's golden boot while Launceston United veteran Chris Pickering dominated the NC1 goal-scoring.
