Cricket Australia would be left with "no alternative" but to scrap the Afghanistan test in Hobart if the Afghanistan refuse to support a women's team.
In recent days, it came to light that the future of women's cricket in Afghanistan was uncertain due to the political situation in the country.
Cricket Australia confirmed in a statement that the Hobart Test would be scrapped if Afghanistan refused to support women's cricket.
"If recent media reports that women's cricket will not be supported in Afghanistan are substantiated, Cricket Australia would have no alternative but to not host Afghanistan for the proposed Test Match due to be played in Hobart," the statement read.
CA said the situation clashed with their strong support of women's cricket.
"Driving the growth of women's cricket globally is incredibly important to Cricket Australia. Our vision for cricket is that it is a sport for all and we support the game unequivocally for women at every level," the statement read.
The update comes after Premier Peter Gutwein expressed his concerns over the future of the Test match earlier this week.
