Motorcyclists pay a high registration due to risk, but when one of the risks is the current poor road conditions, well one would have to consider what is acceptable, and what is not.

I am not versed in law, but I am wondering when it becomes something similar to negligence by the provider, person, or company responsible for the infrastructure.

It would appear that in seeking to usurp Neo-Liberalism and small government Labor has adopted the same characteristics of its nemesis.

IT will be a tremendous civic and cultural asset for the modest-sized City of Launceston. Having a Northern based location for our much-loved, national asset which is the TSO is a brilliant outcome.

The other inclusions will create a huge drawcard for Launceston. Sincerely hope this marvellous plan comes to pass. Hands in pockets, shoulders to the wheel everyone.

IT is fantastic that the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association is pushing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 ("Farmers fight source of climate change" The Examiner, September 2).

This is the decisive decade for climate action. The projected future of life on earth will be determined by the choices made by those alive right now.

We can all make a difference: thank you to the farmers for leading the way.

I HAVE watched the speech in Tasmanian parliament by Felix Ellis and feel he has a good point. The fact that the Greens' Cassy O'Connor walked out, after the speaker would not accept that it was not a personal attack on her, was telling of her shortcomings as a public representative.

She needs to be more sensitive to the views of others and be respectful of others.

I am pleased she isn't in NSW.

IN response to Susan Goebel letter (The Examiner, September 4), my wife and I are waiting to relocate/retire back to Tasmania. We have been excitedly looking forward to this for the last two years.

We retired and sold our home in the Hunter Valley NSW just before this latest outbreak and halfway through the moving process, Tasmania declared NSW as high-risk level 1. We are now locked down in our small caravan with our dog in the border bubble town of Corowa which incidentally at the time of writing this letter has not had a COVID-19 case.

We have had two negative COVID tests, been fully vaccinated, have our own home in Launceston and have family who are willing to support us should we be able to home quarantine. However, rather than being individually risk assessed, we have been told we must go into hotel quarantine and our requests for a G2G pass have been turned down due to lack of spaces in hotel quarantine, which becomes difficult to understand when you see sports people being able to fly in and out of Tasmania.

My wife and I love Tasmania and are 100 per cent for doing what's right for the state and we wish more could be done for stranded returning residents.

INCREASE the House of Assembly to 35, abolish the Legislative Council and reduce the number of councils to three.

Way too much bureaucracy.
