The Devils were pushed by a plucky Southside Rebels 79 to 73 but Lachlan Cocker (36 points) delivered one of the great finals performances to be the difference throughout the game.
Cocker shot beautifully from behind the arc and the free-throw line as he led all point-scorers.
The Devils will now face the Sejr Deans-led City Rockets in the LBA men's grand final next week.
Finals action was also underway in the LBA women's division as the Westside Trojans secured their place in the grand final.
The Trojans faced Rebels Blue, the sole side who had defeated them in the regular season, but proved they had learn their lesson with a 50 to 37 victory.
Ashlea Mawer led the Trojans attack with 14 points while Jessica Jeffrey (11 points) and Jessica Decani (10 points) were also prominent.
Rebels Blue will have the chance to redeem themselves against Devils Patterson in the preliminary final after the Devils accounted for Rebels Red in the other semi-final.
The Devils proved too good for Rebels Red in the 54 to 43 victory. Lisa Patterson was dynamic on offence with 20 points on the night to lead all scorers to be the difference between the two sides.
The winner of the Devils and Rebels Blue fixture will advance to the grand final.
