Tasmania Police have issued a warning to those who want to take advantage of warmer spring weather to plan and prepare well for bushwalks.

The warning comes after emergency services were called to a rescue on Mount Wellington overnight.
Two people had walked from The Springs to the Disappearing Tarn with low charge on their mobile phones as light was fading.
They became lost and then called for assistance.
Police said the pair were not prepared for a cold night on the mountain.
They were found just over three hours after they called for help and were walked off the mountain at 2am.
Senior Constable Callum Herbert advised some Tasmanian locations could still reach sub-zero temperatures during September.
"When walking in elevated areas the temperature can change quickly," he said.
"The day may be warm and fine when commencing a walk, but change rapidly as weather patterns move through and light reduces."

Police have suggested walkers do not rely solely on mobile phones for navigation and that they carry battery bank to recharge devices.
"Some rescue missions could have been prevented if people had been better prepared," Senior Constable Herbert said.
BUSHWALKING TIPS:
- Ensure you're prepared with appropriate equipment - take a map and torch, clothing and footwear to suit any conditions, regardless of the season take a waterproof jacket; adequate food and water, first aid kit.
- Research the intended trip - ensure the trip is within your abilities and fitness level, and you have a route plan, map and check the expected weather forecast.
- Let someone know before you go - ensure someone knows your route and expected return time.
- Always carry a fully charged mobile phone and a PLB and consider a portable charger to extend battery life.
