Prime Minister Scott Morrison has praised Tasmanians for rolling up their arms to receive their COVID vaccinations, with the state "leading the charge" in Australia for double dose vaccination.
Talking about the national vaccination program, Mr Morrison gave a "big shout out to Tasmania".
"Tasmania has a very low COVID rates - zero COVID rates - and they know they're just as vulnerable as anyone else to a Delta strain," Mr Morrison said.
"And, they have, despite the fact that they have very low and little COVID, they've got the highest double dose vaccination rate in the country. So, they're getting on with it down there," he said.
"Well done, Tassie ... and, again, a special shout out to Peter Gutwein."
Across Australia more than half of Australians have had their first dose of the vaccine, while 35 per cent are fully vaccinated.
