After a wet and muddy lead up, NTJFA president Paul House said Longford's ground had dried out nicely and was ready to host the nine games scheduled for Sunday.

"Because of the wind we haven't had to do a whole lot [to dry out the ground]. The council has been really good, they've rolled the ground a couple of times and rolled it again on Friday," House said.

The roller levels the ground out, removes the divets and allows the grass to grow back evenly.

Longford Football Club president Jonny Dodd received confirmation on Monday night it would host the grand finals, creating a hectic few days for the club.

"I went round and rallied the troops, started organising our canteen and helpers for each time slot," Dodd said.

"Last year we had a very good turnout. At one time there were nearly 800 people here at once."

Spectators are capped at 1000, which is the same limit as last year.

Dodd said on Monday night the ground was still pretty soft underfoot, but by Thursday the ground had hardened up and he expected it would be pretty good by Sunday.

Longford was the chosen to host the grand final by the clubs because of it's outstanding facilities, lights and capacity to host the nine games across the day.

"It ticked a lot of boxes," House said.

"It has up-to-date modern changerooms and modern facilities ... [and] the best canteen in northern football, I reckon."

There has been some backlash over venue change, but Mr House said only five of the NTJFA games were scheduled to play at UTAS.

"We had UTAS booked for nine games and then a few weeks ago we were advised we weren't able to play the nine games at UTAS ... so we were going to play four at Invermay Park and five at UTAS, simultaneously," he said.

"UTAS hasn't been available to us for three years. We haven't played a grand final there since 2018."

Masks are not required at the NTJFA grand final matches. All games will be live streamed on the NTJFA Facebook page.
