Band members Harry Yates, Hamish Lehner, Justin Bailey, and Jordan Grant focus on original, thought-provoking music.
"What sets us apart is we all listen to the same big genre, rock, but we all listen to different sub-genres," Lehner said.
"But a lot of people have said our sound is somewhat comparable with Smashing Pumpkins."
The band was formed at Launceston College in 2019 and has slowly been releasing singles over the past few months.
Each member brings their own music interests to the group to draw from. For example, Yates' influences come from The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and Smashing Pumpkins. Lehner enjoys Avenged Sevenfold and the Foo Fighters. Grant appreciates Nirvana and Metallica. Bailey listens to The Sleepy Heads and Luca Brasi.
Now, the band is ready to release their first EP comprised of seven songs on September 3 - Vertebrae Animals of Class.
"Our final year at college was just working on the EP for the year. We went through different songs, discarded a couple, kept a couple," Yates said.
The music the band created was developed through a collaborative process, with each of the four members sharing input.
Lehner said the EP was 90 per cent finished in February, but the band held off from finishing and releasing it so they could get their name out there with singles and gigs first.
"The theme of the instrumentality was to keep it relatively different and unique," Yates said.
"We all sort of share in the band a different view on a lot of things so I think [the EP themes are] what we have in common."
The EP will resonate with those who have gone through or are going through frustration and teenage angst, confusion, and body changes.
"We are trying to figure out where we want to direct [the EP] at the moment, but I think it's a very different sort of album and it's trying to represent it's okay to be honest," Yates said.
"I'd like the audience to understand it's okay to reach out and be heard."
The band is very excited to be able to share their newest music live with audiences.
"We spent the first part of the band not playing gigs and just in isolation so we had a lot of time to figure out how we want to play gigs and represent ourselves," Yates said.
Lehner said the band had grown in confidence the past year, as they developed their new works and played gigs.
The band will be playing live in Launceston on August 28 at Phoenix Bar and on September 17 as part of the Big Gig. To hear the EP when it is released, follow Frogs in Suits on Spotify or check out their Facebook page for more information.
