"For the fact that we need to rest, yes, but because I love being around this group, no," he said.

It is a similar story across town where Riverside has three more trips south in which to try and prevent a winless campaign but encouraged by the impact of several fresh faces.

Adam Walker's first senior goal, in Saturday's 4-2 defeat at Kingborough, was worth the wait while fellow teenager Toby Simeoni continues to find his feet and Max Reissig has been virtually ever-present.

At Prospect, the likes of Stef Tantari, James Hawes, Jacob Horton and Mason Gardner have become among the first names on teamsheets despite their tender years although Sciulli said a long campaign is starting to take its toll.

"We're starting to look tired and I need to figure out a way to refresh them," he said.

"To the boys' credit, I thought the fatigue would come about six weeks ago but instead we've got to deal with it now and we've also got injuries affecting our depth so there's not a lot to choose from."

Despite six wins in the last nine games, Sciulli said the run-in looks daunting.

"We just want to win three games, but they are tough. Kingborough home, Zebras down there then Glenorchy on the astro when they will have a lot to play for."

Olympic has already farewelled Windsor Park for the season and with just three points to show from 18 matches, coach Alex Gaetani is not sugar-coating the stats.

"So far season 2021 has not delivered the on-field results we expected nor accept as a club," he said.

"However, progress has been made towards consolidating our playing style and developing our younger players through extended opportunities.

"We have had several chances to win fixtures during the season but have not been able to execute under pressure during the latter part of games.

"We are all looking forward with enthusiasm to next year, building a strong culture and achieving better results."

Meanwhile the title race could go down to the wire. Three points and a superior goal difference make Devonport favourite to retain its title, particularly having been unbeaten in four months, but next week's fixture at KGV gives Glenorchy a chance to narrow both gaps.
