After falling to the Cavaliers 60-55 on Saturday in the team's first loss since August 2019, Hawks coach Kellie Woolnough said the team hadn't lost sight of its goal to win the season finale.
They'll play Waratah this weekend in an elimination game at the Silverdome.
"Every game's an opportunity, we go into next week knowing Cripps Waratah have put themselves in a really good position," Woolnough said.
"Hopefully we can get ourselves to the big dance but we've got a lot of work between now and then."
In victory, Cavs co-coach Dan Roden said the side will spend the week-long break reviewing the team's second-quarter breakdown to ensure it's avoided in the grand final.
"We've got two weeks to hone everything and be ready to go," he said.
