On Wednesday a 1900 lot auction will go on sale at Armitage Auctions of which about 200 lots are dedicated to a comprehensive car-centric collection.
Auctioneer Andrew Snooks said the auction house was excited to sell off what he described as highly collectible pieces.
"The thing with the petrol memorabilia is it's just so collectible. It's for the new collectors of the next era and the people who do collect it hardly ever want to sell it," he said.
"So it's only if we get an estate with a few pieces that we get to offer it nowadays."
Mr Snooks said Wednesday's auction was slightly different, with the auction house having garnered a number of pieces first before putting a call-out over a few months to anyone wishing to contribute - leading to one of the house's most extensive showings.
Among the showing was a large embossed Veedol sign with a price expectation of between $3000 to $4000 slapped on it, a 1927 Whippet Tourer - a car that would not look out of place in The Great Gatsby - which Mr Snooks hoped would fetch in excess of $5000, and five old-school petrol bowsers.
Mr Snooks said another feature of the auction was a Toyota Forklift advertising figure - a life-sized robot.
"I've never, ever seen one like it," Mr Snooks said.
The Wednesday auction was set to kick off as early as 8.30 in the morning, with a huge day ahead to get through all 1900 pieces.
Mr Snooks said while high-end pieces would fetch multiple thousands of dollars, there was something for all manner of collectors.
"There's anything here for someone who may want to spend $20 up to spending $3000. It's a good start for a lot of the collectors out there," he said.
"People like these sorts of things because of the different and classic colours ... it looks so good when you've got it all together."
