Women's 5K coordinator Zoe Vandervelde said the event not only raised crucial funds for Cancer Council Tasmania, but also brought the community together.
"The streets of Launceston turn into sea of pink with people running or walking," she said.

"Launceston loves the event. It's been going for many years and it's fantastic we are able to come back together to do it."
The Women's 5K was held virtually last year to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, but this year is incorporating both physical and virtual formats.
"A lovely sunny day would be amazing, but of course if it's sunny everyone needs to be wearing sunscreen and their hats to protect themselves," Ms Vandervelde said.
The event is open to anyone and everyone for participation, with many people around Launceston forming groups to get others involved.
"The Women's 5K starts at 10am and we are encouraging all participants to head on over to World Street Eats after they have completed the event," Ms Vandervelde said.
World Street Eats has undergone some changes since its last program of events.
This year, the event will only be held once a month - on the second Sunday - and will also change its start time to 11am.
"We got quite a few feedback comments from patrons to start later and finish later," World Street Eats co-organiser Pearl Chinthammit said.
"We have quite a variety of food vans and stalls participating this time, and we are also now collaborating with the community."
Leftover food from the event will be donated to Shekinah House for the homeless.
Ms Chinthammit said she was glad the World Street Eats team could get together with the Women's 5K event.
Organisers said there may even be some pink decorations around the food event in support of the fundraiser.
Registrations for the Women's 5K close on September 6, and can be made at womens5k.org.au.
