Interweave Arts' Remade show officially launched its 11th year of creating awareness about recycling and sustainable materials on Friday.

Co-ordinator Kim Schneiders said they were looking to extend their input so that the community could increase its sustainable focus and action.

"For us, the outfits are a conversation, they cause a bit of interest and are wearable and moving," she said.

Remade has its own annual fashion event, but also partners with other organisations to participate in a number of other events to showcase the work they do.

For example, Remade will appear at the Junction Arts Festival in September to hold a parade.

On the specific Remade event day, there will be a number of different categories artists and designers can enter including problem solving packaging, inflatables, everyday fashion, spotlight on global warming, illuminations, super trawlers, forest focus, socicoal distancing designs, COVID masks, polar ice caps campaign, ozone awareness, space junk, drag designs, reusable book week designs, and an open section.

"Humans still have a say, every person has a say. We make choices," Ms Schneiders said.

"Remade hopefully empowers people to make good choices that effect positive change to our world."

Remade will be held on November 13 at Albert Hall. There will be a matinee show at 2pm and an evening show at 7.30pm.
