Co-coach Dannie Carstens said former Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander has provided valuable assistance as the club heads into another finals campaign.
"When Julie Hoornweg was in charge of the high performance program she got Lisa over a couple of times and I made a connection then," Carstens explained.
"I've also had a couple of opportunities to do some coaching at the AIS and we've crossed paths there too."
In addition to extensive national league experience, Alexander was in charge of the Australian team from 2011 to 2020 during which time it won 83 of 102 Test matches including the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2015 World Cup.
Like Carstens, she has a teaching background.
"She reviewed 2020 with the team and has been touching base through the year. She could not come over but has done much analysis virtually and we're hoping to get her in the flesh again next year.
"She's fabulous. She has that teacher mentality and so is really good at analysing people and communicating and of course her netball knowledge is fantastic."
Cavs meet the reigning champ Hawks in the qualifying semi-final at the Silverdome at 6pm on Saturday. While the winner advances to the grand final, the loser will play the winner of the elimination semi-final between Cripps and Arrows.
