This is at least Shelby Miller's fifth time being called up to compete on a national level as an adult, having played for the Tasmanian Spirit and Collingwood Magpies in the Australian National League.
"It's really exciting, this is the first year in a while that we've been just a Tasmanian team in the ANC comp," Miller said.
"It'll be really nice to go away and see how much we've improved over the last few years."
The ANC is scheduled for September 13-19 in Traralgon, Victoria, COVID pending.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT:
Unlike most years, the tournament will be played over a week rather than eight with almost one game per day for the teams.
"I haven't done anything like that since the younger years and we used to go away to nationals in under-17s," Miller said.
"It will be a real test on the bodies I think, recovery will be almost as important as game preparation - trying to back up every day."
Five Cavaliers players have been selected to the Tasmanian team of 12, as well as two Northern Hawks players.
Miller said it made being selected all the more special.
"We've got such a great turnout and representation from Cavs girls this year," the mid-courter said.
"I couldn't be prouder of all the girls, it is all so well deserved, it's special to represent together side by side."
In addition to her current teammates, Miller will also reunite with former Cavalier Kelsey Rainbow.
"I'm actually really good friends with Kelsey, I played with her [in Cavs] for a year and I've also played with her when we were affiliated with Collingwood as well," she said.
"I've always loved playing alongside Kels when I've had the chance ... both on the court and socially because it's nice to go away with friends because it's tough when you're competing every day at a high level."
