Open House has launched its third program as part of the City of Launceston's Places of Launceston event.
The architecture and design event will consist of 27 buildings, activities and walking tours across Launceston, and beyond, that the community can discover during a one-day experience.
Open House producer, and Australian Institute of Architects Tasmanian Chapter executive director, Jennifer Nichols said organisers were excited to be back sharing the architecture of Launceston once again.
"I think that the only way people can learn more about architecture or the build environment is to be able to see inside the buildings," she said.
"You can't possibly understand the benefit an architect brings to a project without directly experiencing that.
"We also love that this program gives you a behind-the-scenes viewing of buildings as well."
Some of the places to choose from in the program include the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery archives, Chalmer's Church, the Forster Street Pump Station, the Supreme Court, Stillwater Seven, Design Tasmania, Stoney Rise, the Tasmanian House, Hatherley House Development and the Umbrella Shop.
"Curiosity is the basis of this program in a way," Ms Nichols said.
"Come and have a sticky beak. We love to have a look at something we may not be able to go behind the doors of normally."

The whole program is free, which Ms Nichols said was done to make the event inclusive to all.
"[It's important to be] able to learn and experience your city," she said.
"[I hope people take away] a better insight into the workings of our city and an appreciation for architecture and the value it brings."
The program went live at 8pm on August 12, and bookings for relevant tours can be made from midday on August 13 via openhousehobart.org/launceston.
The event will be held on August 28. Open House Hobart will also be held this year on the weekend of November 13 and 14.
