A warning remains current for the East Coast, with damaging north to northwesterly winds - an average of 60-70 km/h until Wednesday evening, with peak gusts around 100km/h possible.
Fresh and gusty winds will continue across the afternoon and early evening, with possible thunderstorms in the north and west potentially adding to wind gusts.
Tuesday night saw damaging winds in parts of the south and east, including 115 km/h at kunanyi/Mount Wellington and 113 km/h at Tasman Island.
Rain is set to ease into showers later on Wednesday, with a further 10-20 mm forecast broadly about the north and west, with higher falls of 20-50mm possible in elevated areas.
Minor flood warnings are current for the North Esk and South Esk Rivers, as well as the Macquarie and Huon.

A flood watch is current for multiple catchments.
Snow is on the way, forecast to fall to around 800 metres late Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Showers will persist into the west and far south for the rest of the week - but strong winds are expected during the day Friday with another cold front passing.
