Toby Wools-Cobb has been dreaming of the day he would open his own bookshop for a long time, but the dream has only become a reality in the past eight months.
"[I've] just been really crystalising the type of bookshop I think Tasmania needs ... because we are so disconnected from the world in different ways," he said.
"Everything the Quixotic is about is getting us connected to the rest of the literary world, one step closer."

The store will be structured as a remainder bookstore, which focuses on acquiring books that have been returned to publishers from other bookstores at a discounted price.
"It's a crucial difference from Petrarch's Bookshop," Mr Wools-Cobb said.
"That's our key difference."
Petrarch's is well-known in Launceston for what it offers book addicts, but Mr Wools-Cobb does not see the store as competition.
"[We are] very different. If anything I hope it to be a complementary relationship," he said.
"Petrarch's have nailed the North of Tasmania in terms of latest best sellers .... that's not a field I want to dabble in. I'm after things we just don't see in Australia and what's hard to actually find."
What book lovers will be able to experience at Quixotic Books is a mix of curiosity combined with some unexpected finds.
"I'm focusing on historical titles, whether that's historical fiction or historical non-fiction. Expect to find odd titles," Mr Wools-Cobb said.
The owner looked through over 100,000 titles to hand-pick every single book that appears on the shelves.
"When you're a buyer of your own bookstore, you don't want to fall into the trap of buying books that you're interested in only, you try and keep in mind [other people]," he said.
"There should be something for everyone, but anyone who has a curious mind will find something fascinating."
Anyone on the hunt for a rare book can also put in their queries with Mr Wools-Cobb, who enjoys helping people find items they have been searching for.

Something that could have scared off the new bookstore owner, but didn't, was the growing popularity of Kindles and e-books.
"I don't really find them in competition with the physical book, I think it's all complementary," he said.
"I make it akin to when the car came. All the horses, you stopped seeing them in the streets being used as an everyday thing and they became more and more prized possessions and used in more precious ways."
Mr Wools-Cobb said visitors won't be rushed when they come into the store, and could even bring a coffee in while browsing.
For those unsure what they are looking for, there will be two shelves dedicated to Toby's Unusual Finds, which will be novels that are funky, weird, and whacky.
Quixotic Books is located at 109 Brisbane Street. The shop can also be found online through their website page or on Facebook and Instagram.
