About 5pm last night, police from Northern Road and Public Order Services intercepted the man's vehicle travelling east near the Birralee turn off.
The P-plater was travelling more than 75km/h above the speed limit.
It came after police fined 16 drivers for speeding through Bass Highway roadworks and "endangering the lives of workers" in a two-hour window on Wednesday.
"Police will continue to be out and about to ensure drivers are doing the right thing on our roads," Sergeant Terry Reaney said.
"Remember police could be anywhere, any time in any vehicle, so please slow down and keep everyone safe on our roads."
The 31-year-old man has been disqualified from driving for 4 months and will face six demerit points and a fine of $994.75.
Anyone who witnesses dangerous driving can report it to police on 131 444 or through Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
