In the immediate aftermath, Mr Hills described the reaction as when Kaylee McKeown endeared herself to Australia with a few choice words.
"I was like that swimmer that said that faux pas after she won, I was stoked," he said
"I'll have free fuel for as long as it lets me, which is great."
Mr Hills said he would be one of the most popular people in the whole of George Town and at the petrol station with his new prized possession.
"They're already asking whether they can [use it] to fuel up their cars already," he joked.
"They're probably already down at Ampol already."

Mr Hills is part of some illustrious company after weatherman Peter Murphy was announced as the other winner of the free fuel competition earlier this week.
When he entered the free fuel competition, Mr Hills admits it never crossed his mind that he would claim the grand prize.
"Not really, I just did it for the hell of it really," he said.
Mr Hills said he might use the fuel voucher to travel when he feels it is safe to do so if the coronavirus pandemic eases.
"We would if it was safer at the moment it's not safe to do anything," he joked.
Mr Hills and Mr Murphy are the two subscribers of The Examiner to win a fuel card from entering the national Australian Community Media competition. A full list of competition winners will be published in Friday's paper.
