This year will mark the first time the Sustainable Living event has been a festival, with previous years geared more towards an expo style.
Festival coordinator Sandra Astill said the event had outgrown the layout of an expo, and instead was now trying to attract a broader audience.
"Trying to attract people to the idea of sustainability was our focus," she said.
Ms Astill said sustainability, after COVID-19, now extended further than the environment to also include social, business, and mental health and wellbeing aspects.
"There is a strong focus on environment of course, but also a strong focus on making communities healthier," she said.
The festival will have a variety of attractions to see and participate in including presentations, market stalls, exchanges, recycling areas, activities and workshops, cooking demonstrations from Fast Ed, a food court, guided walks, exhibitions, and non-stop entertainment.
"There are lots of things to do and it's really interactive. It's a real family event this one, focusing on bringing families together," Ms Astill said.
The Sustainable Living Festival will be held October 9 from 10am-4pm at Windsor Park Community Precinct. Tickets will be released mid August.
