It was a sight that had not been seen for almost a century.
A number of Tasmanian schools were forced to close for the day due to the snowfall while the state emergency services were high in demand.
The unique event left many people overjoyed by the winter wonderland, who sent through photos of their backyards and streets peppered with snow.
