The much anticipated clash between Hawthorn and Collingwood marks the first time the sides have played for premiership points in Tasmania.
The Collingwood members allocation for tickets sold out within an hour of going on sale while the general allocation reportedly sold out within half an hour of going online.
The only authorised ticket agent for the Hawthorn and Collingwood game is Ticketmaster.
The secondary ticket on-sale is planned for Saturday at midday.
Fans attending the match will be subject to COVID safe measures with match attendance is capped at 10,000 and masks mandatory for those over 12 years old due to COVID safe measures.
There was an anxious wait for tickets which were gradually released throughout the day on Wednesday morning to Hawthorn GA members at 9am, Collingwood members at 11am and the general public at 1pm.
It marks another highly awaited football game for Launceston which also hosted the Hawks and Brisbane game in the last round as the state helps the AFL negotiate the unpredictability of the coronavirus.
