The $7.5 million round of vouchers offered by the state government were announced after Tasmanian and interstate border closures resulted in uncertainty for tourism operators across the state.
Unlike the previous voucher rounds, which were fully subscribed to within 40 minutes of the website opening, people will have five days to register for the ballot.
Registration opens at 9am on August 5 and ends at 5 pm on August 9.
Anyone who is successful in securing a voucher will be notified on August 11 and have until September 24 to use their vouchers, which is the day before school holidays begin.
There is $200 allocated to accommodation and $100 to spend on experiences.
Tourism Industry Council Tasmania chief executive Luke Martin said the five day ballot system gives everyone an equal chance.
Mr Martin said the option to use the vouchers on weekends also enabled people who worked over the week to benefit from the system.
"Bookings have fallen off the cliff, interstate and locally. August is our quietest month generally, irrespective of Covid, so the vouchers will stimulate the local market and we will hopefully see a lot of movement around the state that would otherwise not have happened," Mr Martin said.
"If we didn't have this right now operators would be feeling very anxious. The Victorian tourism market is going to take a long time to come back to scale, and we can't bank on this Delta strain not getting out of control," he said.
Mr Martin encouraged people to explore the regions but added that city accommodation and experience providers were also hoping to stimulate business.
He said there were many options for the experience vouchers, including tours, attractions and food and wine activities.
"We naturally talk about holidaying in our regions, but our cities also need a bit of love," he said.
"If you can't get away for a few days then plan for a night in one of the city hotels, head out to a restaurant and have a night out on the town."
