According to latest Health Dashboard data, 47 people were taken off the list at the Launceston General Hospital since the end of May, with more than 4000 Northern Tasmanians currently still waiting.
Meanwhile at the North West Regional and Mersey Community hospitals the waiting lists have stalled as more people were added.
Health minister Jeremy Rockliff said the latest data for June shows encouraging improvements to the waiting list, reducing from 12,271 in January this year, to 11,284.
He said this was a decrease of nearly 1000 people.
"There is however still a long way to go, and we must always strive to do better because behind every number is a person requiring care," he said.
"The Health Dashboard update shows despite delivering more funding, more staffing and more health services than any previous Government, demand is continuing to increase."
The recent data comes after the Liberals' 2021 election promises for elective surgeries were touted as the "biggest ever investment".
In April Premier Peter Gutwein said his government would pump $26.1 million into the North-West over the next four years for a total of 3,700 additional surgeries.
Statewide, he said "we will prioritise 2021-22, providing an extra 8,300 surgeries statewide, bringing our total volume for that year to more than 22,800 surgeries in one year - almost twice the size of the waiting list, and the largest year of surgery ever in Tasmania."
Mr Rockliff said their "elective surgery blitz" would ensure more patients get the surgery they need within clinically recommended times.
"Importantly, the additional $120 million commitment made during the state election is over the term of Government, enabling longer-term planning and certainty. A four-year elective surgery plan is currently under development, in line with our plan for our first 100 days, which will enable us to deliver an additional 22,300 elective surgeries and endoscopies."
In the health data, a total of 20,963 people were removed from the list since this time last year, with 18, 077 of these actually admitted to hospitals for their procedures.
Tasmanians waiting for dentist services are also destined to continue waiting, as the waiting lists for care balloon out to the highest they have ever been in the past year.
More than 17,500 Tasmanians are waiting for public health dentistry care, which includes adults and children.
