On the scrapheap?
It is time ratepayers wake up to the waste of money this council spends!

TASMANIAN DRIVER INDICATION
AS an addendum to Harry Murtough's article "Tasmania's Aversion To Indicating" (The Sunday Examiner, July 25),I would like to include driver's initial braking, with indication as an afterthought, or crossing lanes immediately upon indication, without a pause for other driver's acknowledgement and safety.
Another Tasmanian driving propensity is to pull-out in front of passing traffic whilst proceeding at the lowest possible speed.
Sometimes the offending driver will show his/her indignation with a mandatory horn blast for passing their vehicle to avoid a potential rear-end collision.

COMING TO TASMANIA
MY son and grandson were booked to come from Melbourne on July 30 for the weekend for my birthday, and for the third time their flight was cancelled again on July 26, the same day it was announced a Queensland and three Victorian AFL teams would be coming to Tasmania that same weekend.
What a pity my son isn't very, very wealthy, he could have bought his way into the state like it seems the AFL has.
Mick Leppard, Invermay.
DOROTHY MCRAE-MCMAHON
IT was good to see the profile about the Rev Dr Dorothy McRae-McMahon (The Examiner, July 27).
In recent years, I believe far too much attention has been paid by the media to the pronouncements of ultra-conservative religious leaders.
It's refreshing to see some recognition of the contributions of faith leaders who reflect a more inclusive and culturally positive viewpoint, such as we find in every community.
Rev Dr Bob Faser, Claremont.
CABLE CAR
HOW predictable.
The Hobart City Council slated 13 depositions to be heard against the proposed cable car, and TWO (plus the proponent) in favour. It's quite obvious what their bias is.
Rod Force, Sandy Bay.
LOCKDOWN PROTESTS
WHAT complete idiocy those Sydneysiders displayed in their protest march.
What did they hope to achieve?
Certainly nothing constructive. The only likely result will be a spike in COVID-19 cases. It is tough being in lockdown, but it is a necessary strategy to break the cycle of infection. It demands whole-hearted cooperation from all of us.
