Down at quarter time, the Roos battled in trying conditions to win 2.2 (14) to 2.0 (12) with Tahlia Powe and Cecilia Cameron putting in starring performances.
Coach Brad Powe said his players had been "brilliant" in just their 10th game as a club.
"The girls really set themselves for [Saturday's] game and they had their minds and hearts set that they were only going to get one result," Powe said.
"In the second half of the year we've seen massive improvement - the last three weeks leading in we've played the three top sides, Scottsdale Old Scotch and Launceston.
"We could see the improvement, so we always knew we were going to be competitive once we got back to some sides we were able to compete against."

The Roos will sit out with the bye next week before hosting bottom-placed Longford, who is yet to register a win in its first season.
Powe, who has happily signed on to coach the Roos again next season, acknowledged the challenge of sticking fat as a first-year club playing established sides.
"We knew what we were up against to start with and we kind of coached that way," he said.
"We said to the girls 'it's a long journey, it's not about this season - it's about building and committing and creating a strong culture'.
"You've got to enjoy the little moments you have - that might be a five-minute patch where you're on top and you've got the ball stuck in your forward line, or winning a quarter, or [when] we hold a team like Launceston under 100 points.
"Then it's about the journey and for us it was about making sure we kept turning up to training, doing the work and learning - that's the biggest thing you've got to do when you're not winning games."
