With just one loss to its name since round 10 last year, reigning premier Launceston is a strong favourite to double up in 2021 having recorded a nine-goal-plus win over every side this season.
However, North Launceston, Clarence, and Kingborough all have reason to believe they could upstage the flag fancies if given the opportunity.
The Northern Bombers are the only side to better the Blues this season, but Kingborough have come within 26 points on two occasions and the Roos are in their best form of the year to date.
"As far as we think internally - I reckon any of the top four teams can win it at this stage," Simpson said.
"We definitely saw last week how far Clarence have come in the last seven weeks or so, they're playing some really unbelievable footy at the minute.
"We're hoping to hang on to second spot and be able to have a free shot at Launny in that semi-final - as long as we're anywhere in that top three or four positions, you never know what's going to happen.
"There's been a lot of upsets between that top four group I think so far - whoever's ready to go on their day will have the best shot."
This year's final series will be played over three weeks, with the top two sides playing off for direct entry to the grand final in week one.
