As the winter chill continues to set in, charity Tassie Mums has launched its first Launceston clothing drive.
The charity used to have drop points in Launceston, that were forced to close during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founder Clair Harris said they had seen an increase of people wanting to donate items, and had found a donation drop point with Launceston Mitsubishi.
"We're so thankful for them, their support to be able to do this is crucial," she said.
"They're going to be filling a big car part box with donations and transport it down to our Hobart headquarters which is going to be a big help."
Ms Harris said the charity, which provides clothing, toys and other items to those in need, had seen an increase in demand.
"Since March, when the extra Centrelink payments ended, we've had a steep increase, coincided with need due to financial hardship," she said.
"We're also servicing a number of Northern community groups now and taken on new organisations, so we want to make sure we're able to support them."
The callout is for clothing for children of all ages, with a particular focus on those of an older age, around 12-13 years, which Ms Harris said had seen a swell of requests.
"We're holding it now to coincide with school holidays - with lots of parents home and cleaning out, seeing what fits we thought it could be a great time," she said.

"This time of year we hope there might be some warm coats and vests.
"If your child has outgrown their warm jumper, jeans, vest or other clothing, please consider donating it to Tassie Mums. We will rehome it to a girl or boy who needs it."
Donations of used clothing in good condition or brand new socks and underwear are able to be donated at Launceston Mitsubishi, 151-155 Invermay Road between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm Saturday.
The clothing drive ends Saturday July 24.
