Junction and Tasdance are once again joining forces to create the next stage of MUSTER, which will become the centrepiece of the 10th anniversary for the arts festival.
Organisers are on the hunt for 150 Tasmanians to participate in the large-scale dance work, which will be performed in Princes Square to a suped-up version of a Johnny Cash classic.
MUSTER has been in development since 2019, and a smaller-scale version was performed at Junction's Hometown festival in 2020.
Due to COVID-19, the Junction Arts Festival was not held last year, but Junction's Hometown festival took its place.
The first stage of the project saw about 80 people, divided into four groups, come together for weekly rehearsals for the performance.

This year, a larger group will perform across four nights of the festival to an estimated audience of 5000 people.
Tasdance artistic director Adam Wheeler said the idea of the project was to bring the community together through dance.
"It's rare that an important community based project like this has the chance to be reimagined. This is a project for everyone and we need the whole community to get behind it and join us," he said.

Participants will be guided by choreographers, Caitlin Comerford, Gabe Comerford, Bec Jones and Rikki Mace in rehearsals this year.
"No matter your age, ability or performance experience, MUSTER is for you," Mr Wheeler said. "All you need is a love for meeting people and being part of something special."
Registrations for MUSTER are open on the Tasdance website, with rehearsals to commence July 24.
The 2021 program was released earlier this month, and included acts such as The Tweed Ride and the Junction Dog Show, as well as pieces from local artists.
Junction Arts Festival will be held from September 1-5. For more information, or tickets, visit junctionartsfestival.com.au.
