Racing Minister Jane Howlett made the announcement in Hobart on Saturday morning, providing more detail on a promised $3 million investment into one-off infrastructure upgrades at the Longford Racecourse, the Brighton Training Centre and Devonport Racing Club.
"A range of improvements are required to the Devonport Racing Club's main amenities building, especially the female jockey rooms," Ms Howlett said.
Longford Racecourse will also receive $700,000 for facility upgrades and the construction of an 800m trial start chute.
"Tasmanian racing is seeing an unprecedented number of female apprentices coming through the training program and the current facilities are not adequate.
"Funding of $1.5 million will be allocated towards these upgrades which will also include a new owners and participant's area," she said.
TasRacing CEO Paul Eriksson said the funding was "very welcome".
"It is a boost to the funds we have set aside over the next few years for training facilities, and that really is the key focus," Mr Eriksson said.
"For Spreyton, it's all about facilities and amenities... and in Longford it's all about safety and a better opportunity to train.

"So we're talking about the drainage for the thoroughbred track there, so we can turn the grass into more of a usage area longer for the year, and the 800m chute which gives a better training and trialling perspective up there," he said.
Brighton Training Centre will also receive $800,000 in funding, which will be directed towards drainage upgrades and works on the Greyhound straight track.
Mr Eriksson said this would allow funds from their long-term infrastructure plan to be re-directed to other works, allowing for more improvements.
