Roadworks along the Bass Highway are set to continue, with government's corridor study between Launceston and Devonport now open for community consultation.

It's part of a $280 million 10 year action plan to upgrade the highway between Launceston and Marrawah.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Michael Ferguson said the highway was a key corridor for the state, linking major population centres, transport hubs and agricultural areas in the north and west of the state.
"The Launceston - Devonport Strategy will identify potential improvements on this section of the highway that will improve safety for all road users, the efficiency of our freight network and support economic growth," he said.
"We are seeking to identify priorities on the Bass Highway between the two existing dual carriageway sections (two lanes in each direction) at Hadspen on the outskirts of greater Launceston, and Devonport."
Braddon MHA Gavin Pearce welcomed the progression of the upgrades, a joint project between state and federal governments.
"Improving this section of the road is a commitment I made to the electorate," he said.
"This section of the Bass Highway is one of our busiest freight routes, plus it's how most travellers get into and out of our region.
"It does require targeted upgrades to make it safer for all road users so I'm pleased to see it progress to the next stage."
Safety upgrades between Deloraine and Latrobe set to be a key priority of the plan going forward.
"The community is invited to provide feedback, including issues they have experienced, and how they use this stretch of highway," Mr Ferguson said.
Public consultation is open from Monday July 12 to Saturday August 14, with feedback forms available at the Meander Valley and Latrobe councils' office.
An online option, including an interactive map, is available via transport.tas.gov.au/basshighwaylauncestontodevonport.
The final strategy and implementation plan are expected to be released later in the year.
The first projects are set to be implemented in 2022.
