Classique Dancentre teacher Linda Peters was proud to see one of her students, Amelia Walker, take out first place in one of the Under 10s Restricted Cotemporary/Modern/Lyrical Solo sections.
"It's [Amelia's] first time [in the competitions]. She said to me, 'mum didn't think I'd get anywhere because it's my first time. Mum's going to be so exited and so proud of me,'" Ms Peters said.
Ms Peters said it had been incredible to see the students on stage, enjoying what they loved.
"Their faces just lit up the stage, they are just absolutely loving every minute of it," she said.
Dancezone's principal dance teacher Julie Argent saw her student, Avaya Hooper, take out second place in in one of the Under 10s Restricted Cotemporary/Modern/Lyrical Solo sections.
"It brings tears to your eyes," she said. "It's amazing because they try so hard and they work so hard."
Competitors have waited since late 2019 for the Launceston Competitions to once again take the stage.
"I personally did online classes [during COVID-19]," Ms Peters said.
Ms Argent said she had seen some extra excitement and nerves due to the delayed competitions.
Both teachers, although they loved the competitions, were looking forward to a well-deserved rest once everything was over.
"Next week I reckon I'll hibernate for a week," Ms Peters said.
