A secret Sunday night speakeasy will pop up in Launceston from May until August. A map will lead to a dimly-lit doorway for entry. Prohibition inspired cocktails, limited release Tasmanian wines, local brews and delicious Stelo snacks will be on offer. Bookings are essential, visit Eventbrite to get tickets.

Book Fest

Bookfest is back and it's bigger than ever. The event is a major fundraiser for City Mission and is set to be a popular event after last years cancelation. Bookfest started yesterday and will run today from 9am to 4pm at The Launceston Conference Centre, Door of Hope.

Planet Earth
Saturday between 2-2.45pm at The Launceston Planetarium
The Launceston Planetarium is holding a special viewing of the documentary, Birth of Planet Earth. The program will explore questions about the origins of Earth and the Moon and showcase the major hypothesis in front of your eyes at the planetarium dome. Tickets are available through eventbrite and attendees must arrive at 1.45pm to allow time to check-in.
Cake Competition
Cakealicious runs throughout July at various Launceston venues.
Launceston's Great Winter Cake Battle begins this weekend and you're invited. Some of Launceston's favourite venues are putting their best cake forward and inviting you to vote for your favourite.
