Passengers on board a REX flight from Melbourne to Burnie last Sunday evening have been told to isolate after a positive coronavirus case passed through Tullamarine airport.

The positive case travelled on a Jetstar flight from Sydney to Melbourne on Sunday, June 20th.
They moved through Terminal 4 of the airport, prompting the Tasmanian Health Department to contact local passengers in the terminal at the relevant times to isolate immediately and get a COVID-19 test.

A Department of Health spokesperson said this was a precautionary measure.
"Passengers on two flights into Tasmania on Sunday night were contacted by Public Health Services as part of our precautionary COVID-19 risk mitigation strategies," they said.
"Due to a case transiting through Terminal 4 in Melbourne Airport shortly before two flights departed to Northern Tasmania, Public Health Services contacted passengers to asking them self-isolate until they returned a negative COVID-19 test.
"No positive tests have been returned."
The infectious case did not fly to Tasmania.
