Festival organiser Ben Cunningham said the event would be returning to the scene with some adjustments and a major focus on community and diversity.
"We've tried to make sure [the food stalls are] of different cultures. We've got Lebanese, Dutch, Afghan ... that's the theme, trying to bring in diverse cultures," he said.
Alongside a smorgasbord of international food, local brewers Kick Snare Brewing will be in town offering up refreshments to attendees.
The brewers are part of the Norwood community and Mr Cunningham said there had been a focus on attracting those from the local area.
Senior Norwood Primary School student leaders Connor Holloway and Giaan Plummer said the festival important in bringing the community together while promoting what was great about their school.
Principal Karen Monaghan said credit for the festival getting up and running went to a small but active school association.
She said the school's halls had been abuzz with excitement about the upcoming event as students anticipated a warm reception despite a falling temperature.
Mr Cunningham said he was expecting up to 1900 festival goers but the event was open to anyone. Entrance will come at the cost of a gold coin donation and COVID-19 safe protocols will be followed via app check-in.
