An 82-year-old man did not enter a plea when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with attempted murder and wounding.
Richard Andrew Burke of Counsel St, Zeehan appeared with a wound on his forehead and bandages on his arm.
Duty solicitor Claudine Enriques did not make an application for bail.
Magistrate Simon Brown remanded Mr Burke in custody until July 16 at 9.15am for a video appearance from Risdon Prison.
