A man remains under police guard in hospital after an incident that left two women with multiple wounds.

Early Saturday morning police were called to a residential address at Counsel Street, Zeehan, where a 64-year-old woman and an 80-year-old woman received wounds to their heads and bodies.
An 82-year-old man was taken into police custody.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Police say the man also received treatment for wounds, and was transported to the Launceston General Hospital for ongoing medical attention.
He remains under police guard in hospital.
The women required immediate medical attention and were transported to the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie.
Police and specialist forensic officers were to remain at the property overnight.
