Owner Vonda Mason said that from October the venue would turn its focus to new horizons.

"We've done what we set out to do, and believe we've done it incredibly well," Ms Mason said.

"We're all a bunch of creatives. Creative people don't continue to do the same thing forever.

"We've all got exciting new projects, and feel it's time to move on to the next phase."

Instead of operating as a restaurant, the venue will exclusively be available for private functions, workshops, photoshoots and weddings.

Ms Mason said she understood that people would likely be surprised by this decision.

"Everybody loves the venue, so many people feel a connection to it. A lot of people will probably say 'why? This doesn't make any sense'.

"But we feel like we've done what we set out to do, and it's on our own terms," she said.

"A book with only one chapter would be very boring."

All staff at the venue are set to continue on as the conservatory moves into its next phase.

Ms Mason said the team would miss the rush of daily meal service, but that the timing "feels right".

"We'll miss everything really. We've loved every minute," she said.

"We opened in March of 2015. The business itself went mad from day one - it's always been a beast that kept getting bigger and bigger.

The restaurant will officially close its doors on October 30th.

For their 'last hurrah' they will be hosting the Tasmanian Gin & Spirits Fair on Sunday, October 24th.
