1. Winter Concert
June 19, two sessions
St Cecilia will host A Winter's Celebration to warm Launceston. The concert will include some incredible violin performances and rare music. It will be held at the City Baptist Church, Frederick Street. There will be two sessions - 2pm and 5pm. Tickets are available from Barratts Music, Launceston. Adults are $20, students and children are $10, and a family is $50.

2. Clothing Market
June 19, 11am-2pm, free to enter
Behind Closed Drawers will be hosting its third preloved clothing market of the year on Saturday. The event will celebrate all things winter, and help people stock up for the cooler months. Stallholders will also have the opportunity to donate any leftover clothes to local charity Shekinah House's Shop 4 Hope op shop. The market will be held at St Ailbe's Hall, in Launceston. 3. Football Fever
June 20, 3.20pm, tickets sold out
In a bonus match for Launceston, the Hawks will defend home turf against Essendon at UTAS Stadium on Sunday. While tickets are sold out, there's still plenty of fanfare to be had as the city welcomes the Bombers for their first ever match in Launceston.
4. Society Talk
June 20, non-members $4, members free
The Launceston Historical Society will hold a public lecture at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Inveresk. The Role of Anaesthetists in Safe Childbirth in Australia - from pioneers to present day will be presented by Alicia Dennis - a professor at the School of Medicine at Deakin University, and who holds honorary appointments at the University of Melbourne. She is also a staff specialist anaesthetist and director of Anaesthesia Research at The Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne. 5. Dark Mofo
June 16-22, Hobart
Dark Mofo, Tasmania's annual winter festival, is back for another year. With a mix of events both paid and free, there is something for everyone. Some of the highlights of the festival include the winter feast and the nude solstice swim.

6. Stelo's Oscura
Sunday's from May-August, free to enter but tickets required
A secret Sunday night speakeasy will pop up in Launceston from May until August. A map will lead to a dimly-lit doorway for entry. Prohibition inspired cocktails, limited release Tasmanian wines, local brews and Stelo snacks will be on offer. Visit eventbrite to get tickets.
