Ulverstone man Colin William Drake appeared in the Devonport Magistrates Court on Thursday before Magistrate Tamara Jago.
Mr Drake was represented by defence lawyer Lee Edwards, who told the court he would not be seeking bail.
Mr Edwards did not enter a plea on behalf of his client, and Ms Jago adjourned the matter to July 15.
