In the coming weeks, the City of Launceston council will deliver 50 more parking meters with the option of electronic payments to the CBD.
The new machines will accept coins, card or payment via the EasyPark app to improve convenience.
In the public submission stage of the council's budget, one submission questioned the council's expenditure on the parking meters and signage.
Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said the roll out was in response to the changing behaviours of local motorists.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We're installing more of these machines largely in response to the change in payment preferences we've noticed across the city over the past two years," he said.
"Now motorists will have the option to pay with coins or card in more locations across our CBD, or via the EasyPark app."
